I do blog!

My macro-economics teacher today asked if anyone in class writes a blog and only one person in our class raised their hand but it wasnt me. I dont think he was talking about a in the closest, gay blog about life so I kept my hand down. And my teammate sat right next to me and I knew a good amount of kids in the class so didnt want any questions about what I write about lol The teacher was just making a point that in order for my generation to gets jobs out of college, we will have to be technically sound and be able to work on/with computers. And that we have to have effect ways of communicating certain topics and be able to network. I presonally think I will be able to do all that so im good :) lol

But this got me thinking as well...Why do people read my blog? Im up to nearly 100 followers and I personally think my life is boring as fuck lol. When I started this blog, it was for me to clear my thoughts and just vent on my inner gayness. Over time, I have seen it has helped others so I continue to write and it helps me so its a win-win. But I just wonder why you the readers have decided to read my blog. Please leave a comment or let me know! I just want to know why my blog means something to you.

Also, I just want to point this out, I feel like Im so much more gay when I write here. It might be because I just think gay people show emotion more and thats what I do here. I dont mind or care really cause there are a certain few that know me but just had to get that off my chest lol

Well thats about it. Nothing new really besides classes started today and my Tuesday/Thursday classes are going to blow and might be the end of my GPA :/ but other than that, nothing interesting. Hope everyone who reads this is doing well and take it easy people!

  1. Socrkid: I read because the coming out process, first acceptance by yourself, then your family and friends is something all gay (and bi guys) can relate to - so that is something that binds and connects us even though we are physically far away. And the fact that you are an athlete makes your struggle a bit harder than most since athletics is not as welcoming to gays as other fields. Seeing you succeed reinforces the hope I have for all of us.

I follow because I can totally relate to how you feel about having to hide such a big part of who you are. I am also in the closet and still trying to figure out who I am through college. I try to envision myself coming out to my parents (like you have) so in a way, your blog lets me think about something that I may have to eventually do. I admire your courage and really enjoy reading about your life as it is VERY similar to the one I'm living now. You've helped me through a lot believe it or not. Takecare bud!

  4. I am an older gay (57). Never been out of the closet. I wanted to hear what the younger generation thinks and how they plan to live their lives. I try to encourage them to come out if at all possible. The stress of living in the closet and not accepting oneself has caused me to have to deal with depression and a 4 way heart bypass. I have been very successful in business but don't have anyone to share my success with. I have followed your life and I am so happy for you. These hard decisions you are making will pay dividends in your later life. I wish I had your courage when I was you age..

  5. I read because I'm currently trying to accept who I am and begin the coming out process to my family. Your blog, as well as the others I follow, have really helped me to start being confident and like myself again.

  6. I'm a casual reader of your blog - visiting occassionally. The reason I check in from time to time is two-fold. First, I write a blog too so there is a bit of a busy-body in me - chalk it up to curiosity. Second, I find your posts interesting. It makes me think back to a poignant period in my life.

  9. I follow your blog for a variety of reasons. I'm a teacher and community organizer who knows and works with many young people who are courageous in accepting who they are, and being truthful to the people in their life which creates deeper and honest relationships. I'm a former basketball coach (22 years) and soccer referee (7 years) and consider soccer to be the greatest players game in sport. Finally, I came out 5 years ago when I was 50, first to select friends, then my mom (who was 85 and totally awesome!), family, colleagues, improv comedy troupe, and eventually my district. Following your story, while similar to mine, albeit 30 years later, is uplifting and I have the greatest respect for you. You inspire people to be true to themselves by your personal example. Bravo to you and have an incredible season playing the world's greatest sport!
