one year anniversary

Today is my one year anniversary of my blog!! (well technically 38 minutes was but whatever)

I went through and read some of my old posts. Was laughing at some of them but also thought its fuckin crazy how far I've come in only a year. I love where Im at and pretty content with it too. I dont feel the need to just go tell anyone who walks by. I guess a couple more teammates knowing couldnt hurt but Im not gonna force the issue.

Nothing too big has happened since my last post. This past weekend I was in Charlotte for my uncle's wedding and it was pretty sick. Im gonna post more about it later just cause Im tired and got a big day tomorrow. Its gonna be a rough 3 weeks cause school is coming to an end and I got a shit ton of stuff due :/

So in celebration of my one year (sounds like im married to this thing), yall can ask me questions. Just post a comment and I will try to answer them in a timely fashion in a post. I know I wont get many, possibly none but just thought I would let yall ask any since I've never done it before.

  1. Well done dude. So many guys think a blog is a cool idea, write a few posts then fade away. It's great to keep up with you, so here's to your second year.

  3. Congratulations on completing a whole year blogging. Mine has only been going about 6 weeks and I am running out of things to share already.

Here is a question for you though.
Have you told or has anyone found out you are Gay
and as a result caused you problems?

  4. Socrkid: You have made so much progress, understanding and accepting yourself, after some pretty adamant statements that you wanted to stay in the closet. I hope you see that gay guys come in a number of different forms than the stereotypes and that you never have to worry about being alone. People will support you if you let them.

  5. I'm gonna ask the tough question, or maybe it's the easy question. Depends on where you're at I guess.

Top or bottom? Pole smoker or pole smokee?

Even if you don't define yourself by any of these (hate labels myself) what is your physical sexual preference....even if its just in your Jerk-off fantasies.

  7. Congratulations on the one year anniversary of your blog! Sharing your personal journey has been an inspiration for your readers, who, because of your writing, can identify and relate their personal journeys to your own. I enjoy reading your blog because I find your words and experiences uplifting, insightful, and personal. You are a young man who will continue to find success in the classroom, on the field, and in your life.
Thanks for the opportunity to ask a question, and mine will have two parts: What is the personal and/or professional quality you appreciate most in a coach and why? In a soccer referee/official and why? As a former youth recreational soccer coach and former FIFA/High School soccer official, I would enjoy hearing your viewpoint.
May the remainder of your semester be successful!

  8. Several times you have written about how your teammates and friends use gay slurs and voice homophobia. Now that you have come out to one of your teammates-does he react against it now? Does he understand how you feel when they use words like that?
Also, do your coaches ever say anything about it when your teammates say something homophobic in front of them? /Louise

  10. I held a FIFA license, but never officiated college or any level of pro soccer. I reffed everything from U-11 to U-17 and Frosh, JV, and Varsity High School. I appreciated the answer about officials, because in the 8 years I officiated I felt I did a great job of communicating with players on the field...I only gave one red card my whole career (I didn't appreciate the adjective and noun a player used to describe me :)) I have to say most of my colleagues fit your description of a good ref and they are also good people off the field. I decided to retire before I could ever cost a team a game by not being physically able to keep up. (U-15 players stay 15 years old...I kept getting older!) I'm also proud to say I did. Good luck with your finals!
