  2. Socrkid: Because of the great reception you got from family and friends, you now wonder why it was such a big deal keeping it a secret. Most people still worry about the reception they are going to get, so don't feel like you have second guess your earlier decision to stay quiet. You really had to accept yourself first and that was the biggest hurdle.

As I mentioned before, you must be a really nice guy and good friends to others for them to stay loyal to you and be so accepting. Even for the people who were somewhat reluctant to voice opposition, your real example probably showed them that their fears and biases are overblown. It's easy to condemn people when you don't have a personal connection to them, but with you being out, you are that bridge that shows them the human side of being gay, especially since you are not obvious.

  3. "i don't think i'm gonna find a soulmate there" - i loled haha

yknow, i fully agree with what you said about wishing to come out earlier. i wished that i've read all these blogs way earlier in my life and not senior year of college. now i feel that things are a bit too late already as a senior starting work and yet still not being able to figure out any shit in my life. it's really this regret of not coming out earlier in my life that's oddly making me question my coming out process now, and whether it will actually go as smoothly as yours and others that i've read about.

  4. Great vid bud, a lot more relaxed. I think it's awesome that you went to the GSA meeting and that you're friend went with you in support.

And Catfish! Great show...have you seen the original documentary? If not, check it out. Saw the recent episode you were talking about and really felt for both guys as well.

  5. Thanks for the vblogs, I've really enjoyed them.

Thanks also for the heads-up about Catfish. I found the episode you're talking about online, and...wow. It was surprisingly intense. I feel much more empathy for the straight guy. I thought he handled the situation amazingly well.

If anyone else wants to see that episode, here's the link: http://www.mtv.com/videos/catfish-the-tv-show-ep-8-tyler-amanda/1700154/playlist.jhtml

  6. Why so quick to write off the people at the meeting as potential soulmates? Isn't that being a tiny bit judgemental? Is it because they were overtly 'gay'? Just wanted to point that out since you said you were non-judgemental. I'm not saying I'm not guilty of this too but I'm trying to be more accepting because I want people to be accepting of me too.

Anyway, do keep up with the vlogs and don't worry, you sound fine and you look finer. ;)

  7. Please do keep up with the vlogs as I'm sure everyone enjoys them. And don't worry, you sound fine and look finer. ;)

However, I do have to point out that it seems a little judgemental to write off the people at the GSA, as being potential soulmates, so quickly. Was it because they were overtly 'gay'? I'm not saying I'm not guilty of being judgemental but I'm working on being more accepting because I want others to be accepting of me too.

    1. thanks for the compliments! haha but yeah i guess it is early to write any potential soulmate so quickly, but yes the guys there were overtly gay and that really isnt my type. im not against any friendships or anything just because they dont act like me but just not people i would seek out to date
